Marcel Robert did his artistic training at L’Académie de Bruxelles between 1924 and 1926.
His early style tended to be an interesting amalgamation of Surrealism and Cubism and these works give off a powerful sense of magic and fantastic stillness. Later on in his career he developed an interest in depicting the landscapes of the Meuse region.
He exhibited his work in La Galerie Giroux in Brussels in 1926, 1927,1928 and 1934 and at La Galerie Canard Sauvage from 1926 to 1930, at Le Salon du Deux Décembre and at Le Comité National des Artistes, Peintres et Sculpteurs de Belgique in Brussels in 1939.
